“Defeating Walker’s Right-Wing Money Machine”

The tainted politician receives millions from outside interests!

Scott Walker, the short-term Governor of Wisconsin, is nothing more than a right-wing operative; a tool for the subversive and restrictive agenda of ALEC, the American Legislative Exchange Council.

His policies have hurt Wisconsin, and hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites have joined to recall the controversial Governor.

How important is the recall of Governor Walker?

“Governor Walker’s Day Has Come”

The State of Wisconsin is recalling it’s acerbic Governor.

Only two Governor’s have been recalled in our long history. It looks like the Wisconsin Governor will make history by becoming the third.

More than 1,000,000 signatures — weighing more than 3,000 pounds — were gathered by citizens of the Badger State and turned into the Government Accountability Board in the 60 days they were allowed to gather signatures. Once the GAB has certified the signatures, which could take up to 61 days, the election will be set and the people will have a say in the status of their present governor.

The recall of the controversial governor is another important step in reclaiming democracy. It will set the stage for recanting the electoral mistake they made one short year ago.

But, will the recall supporters prevail?

“Recall Walker Gains Momentum”

Angry Wisconsinites file to recall ideological Governor!

In October paperwork was filed with the Government Accountability Board to gather signatures to recall Governor Scott Walker after just one year in office.

The honeymoon ended abruptly when the newly elected Governor began pushing controversial policies that attacked hard-working Wisconsin citizens.

Push-back, began when Senate Democrats left the state in February to prevent a budget vote that also stripped public union rights. It was swift and has been growing ever since. Wisconsin became the battleground for the middle-class.

As momentum builds, the chance of recall becomes more imminent.

Posted on The Huffington Post on Friday, 8/19. Read it on HuffPo by clicking on the link here.

********************************

On Tuesday, Wisconsinites reclaimed democracy in a big way!

After four months the recall elections in six Senate Republican districts and three Democratic districts in Wisconsin have concluded. They were an important turning point for the nation.

In these historical recall elections, ‘the people’ took another big step on Tuesday reelecting the remaining two Senate Democrats after taking two of the seats the previous week in the six Republican recall elections. A big step in taking back our precious democracy which is under attack by right-wing factions, big corporations, big money, and ALEC.

With five victories in the recall elections Wisconsinites are one step closer to winning back the Senate from the Republicans.

Will this strong showing motivate other repressed people in other states?

“The Important Vote on Tuesday!”

All eyes should be on Tuesday’s vote: a turning point for America.

No, not the debt ceiling and spending cut vote that may or may not occur in Congress, but an even more important vote—the vote in Wisconsin.

The vote to win back democracy. To smack down the plutocratic oligarchy that invaded Wisconsin. To fight off the move to fascism.

Both votes are important in their impact on politics and economics; both microcosms of the agony and the struggles Americans are forced to endure.

One vote may mean the collapse of the world economy while the other could signal the reawakening of democracy—a return to ‘we the people’—in a state with a history of progressive democratic values.

How important are the recall elections in the Badger State?

“Wisconsin: A Turning Point For Democracy?”

Newly posted article on The Huffington Post. To view this on HuffPo click on the link.

**************************************

The Recall elections in Wisconsin in August are a test of our democracy.

The first two battles have been waged in Wisconsin and, if the opening clashes are any indication, ‘the people’ are going to take back the Badger State.

Last Tuesday, the first recall election was held in Wisconsin’s 30th District and Wisconsinite’s overwhelmingly reelected incumbent, Dave Hansen, over Republican challenger, David Vanderleest.

Similarly, the week before, all six Democratic hopefuls won easy elections over faux Democrat candidates in a forced primary election that will cost the taxpayers of Wisconsin nearly $500,000 dollars. Running fake candidates was a costly, and unethical, political ploy to give Republican candidates more time to raise money, campaign, and muddy the process in the upcoming recall elections in six Republican held districts.

Will this tactic backfire on the Republicans?

“Recall the Wisconsin Six!”

Wisconsin’s recall election has become a national event!

Wisconsinites are angry over new Governor Scott Walker’s deception and are not only voicing their opinion outside the Capitol in Madison, but taking their grievances to the ballot boxes.

Democrats in the Badger State successfully petitioned the recall of six Republican Senators who will be challenged for their Senate seats next month in a special election. The Democrats easily collected more signatures than were required for the Government Accountability Board to certify the results.

Not to be outdone, Republicans, with the help of out-of-state signature gathering agencies and buying signatures, managed to get three Democrats on the ballot.

Why are the Wisconsin people doing this?

“Wisconsinites Strike the First Blow!”

This article was posted on The Huffington Post. Click on the link to read it on HuffPost.

**************************

The Supreme Court election in Wisconsin was the first battle in a protracted fight for democracy!

Wisconsin voters, angered by recent political developments in Wisconsin, turned out at the polls in huge numbers to vote for the Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates, David Prosser and JoAnne Kloppenburg. Wisconsin has become the battleground for the middle-class.

What appeared to be an easy reelection for incumbent Supreme Court Justice, David Prosser, ended up being a dead heat with newcomer, Assistant District Attorney, JoAnne Kloppenburg, the apparent winner by 204 votes. Kloppenburg recovered from a 30% deficit in the non-partisan election just two months ago. Nearly one-and-a-half-million voters cast their ballots on Wednesday.

This was a clear referendum against the anti-union stance taken by Scott Walker and the Wisconsin Republicans. Other state’s Republican Governors, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Florida, and New Jersey, have pushed a similar agenda in an effort to eliminate collective bargaining rights of public unions in their states and are facing the same resistance.

“A ‘Real’ Grass Roots Movement”

Saturday’s welcome home gathering in Madison, Wisconsin was the ‘real’ thing!

Ostensibly overshadowed by the events in Japan, uncovered by a weak media, more than 100,000 Americans gathered in Madison, Wisconsin  a week ago to welcome the 14 heroic Democrat Senators home.

Granted, the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear uncertainty in Japan was front page news—the heart-wrenching devastation deserving extensive coverage—but the return home in Wisconsin was equally important to our politics here in the United States.

Something was happening in Wisconsin that is important to the discourse in this country. And, as usual, the overall media failed in its job.

Far larger and more ‘real’ than the ‘Tea Party’ events, the welcome home demonstration received far less coverage than the ‘manufactured’ tea party gatherings.

Why is that?

“A Fascist Regime in Wisconsin!”

The battle between hard-working Wisconsinites and Wisconsin’s Legislature rages on!

As this situation has escalated things have gotten uglier and more childish.

Republicans in Wisconsin’s state house continue their push to break up the public employees unions amidst declining citizen support.

Though the Wisconsin unions have agreed to all budgetary demands Governor Walker requested, he is insistent on breaking the union; eliminating collective bargaining for public workers. He is determined to turn Wisconsin into a fascist state employing fascist tactics to achieve his goals.

Of the 14 characteristics of fascism, Scott Walker and his comrades in the legislature are exploiting eight of them, obliterating some of the most sacred freedoms of a democracy.

The Governor, on Wednesday, issued an unlawful arrest order for the 14 Democrat Senators who fled the state to preserve democracy and protect Wisconsin’s citizens. A distinctive move in a fascist regime. In his decision, Walker clearly overstepped his gubernatorial powers, trampling civil liberties—moving ever closer to fascism.

Is Walker A Fascist? Is Senator Grothman, or Majority Leader Fitzgerald? Are the rest of the Republican Senators?
