“Supremely Fallacious”

The High Court has lost its purpose and credibility!

After his incredulous statement, Justice Scalia’s qualifications for wearing the ‘Black Robe’ are once again being challenged. His reference to broccoli was innocuous compared to his newest, racially charged, utterance.

Recent statements by the Italian-American member of the Supreme Court have prompted discourse about his partiality and the damage that one-sidedness has done to the country. The court’s bias is also under constant scrutiny.

But Scalia is not the only Supreme Court Justice whose position’s have come under fire.

Will the court make a big mistake as they near a decision on voting rights?

The right-wing tries again to rebut the President!

Marco Rubio, chosen as the sacrificial lamb for the GOP, faced the cameras after the President’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night to deliver the Republican view of our current situation.

Like a jumbled Rubik’s Cube, Rubio and the GOP find themselves in a state of confusion.

Unfortunately, there was only one watershed moment for Senator Rubio in his vain attempt to discredit a President who has found a voice and is rising in popularity.

So who is right in this moment in time; this extraordinary moment in history?

“Gun Powder and Testosterone”

Who loves the smell of gun powder in the morning?

We’ve heard the cliché that gasoline and alcohol don’t mix. The same should be said of gun powder and testosterone.

Both mixtures have deadly implications and deserve scrutiny wherever and whenever these elements are combined.

Though W.C. Fields once joked, “They say gasoline and alcohol don’t mix…actually, they do, they just don’t taste good,” the combination of gun powder and testosterone is no joking matter. Neither is the current combination of powerful weaponry and over stimulated and paranoid males.

So is the answer to take away all the guns?

Congress avoided going over the proverbial ‘Fiscal Cliff.’

Republicans, universally incapable of compromise, caved in the wee hours of the morning to prevent us from potential economic damage to the economy and the recovery.

As a result, taxes were raised on income over $400 thousand, unemployment insurance was extended, and the Alternative Minimum Tax was put to rest forever. These moves all help continue the slow growth and keeps us on a path to possible recovery.

Significant? Yes! But is it sufficient?

We’re back on the edge of a fiscal cliff and the battle rages on!

The two parties are again pressed to address fiscal compromise, facing a deadline to prevent several potentially damaging things from happening in an already fragile economy — and the rhetoric is flying.

Though many pols give the impression, in their cautiously worded statements, they believe the parties can come together to avoid the financial impasse that would cause damage to the economy and recovery. They’re reluctant to play their hands for fear of exposing an irretrievable vulnerability.

Obama won a second term with an impressive victory!

Apparently he was able to overcome a bad economy, high unemployment, an incredibly inept foreign policy, a declining stock market, high taxes, failing banks, and the exploitation of small business.

He also overcame being a socialist, commie, marxist, born in Kenya, a Muslim warring against christianity, who associates with terrorists and refuses to show his college transcripts.

So, how did Obama get 332 electoral votes with such a horrendous record?

“No Longer Debatable”

A President showed up for the last two Debates and won an election.

The two candidates, President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, faced each other in a Town Hall format and the results were much different than the previous encounter. They clashed again over Foreign Policy a week later with similar results.

In each they battled for 90 minutes, the first over questions posed by audience members, still undecided about who they would vote for. In the next debate Bob Schieffer took them through a series of questions on foreign policies.

What was the difference between these debates and the first?

After each debate, focus groups created more questions than answers!

Television has gravitated to the use of focus groups — gatherings of undecided or uncommitted voters — as a tool to evaluate the candidates’ performance in the debates.

With a straight face the sober moderator asks them who they think won the debate, who they’ll vote for, and other questions about the performance of each candidate then, asks follow up questions to clarify their answers.

How valuable are these focus groups?

“Emasculating the Debates”

Millions were focused on the Vice Presidential Debate.

The first two debates were emasculating, first to Obama in the Presidential debate, then for Ryan in last week’s Vice Presidential encounter.

The importance of this second, usually benign exercise, was heightened by the lackluster performance of President Obama in the first debate — a night I’m sure he wishes he could do over.

The contrast between the first two debates was obvious and so was the spin. But, for reasonable people, Vice President Biden was effective at pointing out the deficiencies of not only his opponent, but the Romney/Ryan ticket — something the President failed to accomplish in the previous battle.

Was there a winner in Thursday’s debate?

“The Rest of the Debates Have Been Cancelled”

Over 67 million people watched the 1st Presidential Debate on Wednesday!

The debate last week surprised a lot of people, Democrats and Republicans. They’re still buzzing about it. And if you ask a 1,000 people you’d get 1,000 different answers about what they took from it.

Most are saying that Romney was the winner of this first debate and that President Obama appeared bored and at times unengaged. ABC News even went so far as to say Romney “delivered a commanding performance.”

But did anyone really win?
