“UnReasonable Doubt”

Child murderer George Zimmerman was acquitted in Florida!

A jury of six women — five white — exonerated George Zimmerman after the self-professed neighborhood watchman pursued Trayvon Martin through the hood and shot him!

The case was closely observed. Whites and blacks, mothers and fathers, liberals and conservatives, the legal community, pundits, gun violence advocates, and those opposed to guns anxiously awaited the outcome. The country was deeply divided.

Not Guilty? Really?

“In Our Sights”

The Senate voted on gun control and ‘we’ lost!

When the Senate reconvened after another ‘vacation’ one of the most important (pieces) of business was gun control — especially the Manchin-Toomey expansion of background checks which had received so much press.

As the Senators cast their votes it became obvious that the bill was not going to pass. Forty-six Senators voted against it despite polls showing that as many as 90% of us wanted to at least expand background checks.

Dispassionate legislators,’ who couldn’t see the value in saving citizens lives, and more specifically the lives of our children, voted against it, despite 4,000 gun related murders since the violence in Newtown.

How many more slaughtered will it take?

“A Message From Newtown”

This is not over!

Last week, the Senate failed to pass the Manchin-Toomey Universal Background Check Amendment even though 90% of Americans favored its passage.

Forty-six Senators prevented the passage of a gun control legislation, albeit weak, aimed at reducing the carnage this country is experiencing each and every day! More than thirty people die in America everyday, more than 30,000 each year — the victims of gun related deaths.

The families traumatized by the horrendous massacre of 20 six year olds, and six teachers and administrators responsible for protecting these precious human beings, lobbied Senators pleading that they vote for this one piece of legislation that could spare other parents the anguish they’re experiencing.

Were these grieving parents asking too much?

“Empty Chamber”

Mayhem, chaos, pandemonium, repeating over and over!

Thirty rounds expelled in rapid succession — deafening above the screams, terrifying — then silence, an empty chamber, a brief respite from the maelstrom that leaves some of the 20 beautiful six year olds lying in their Sandy Hook Elementary School classroom crushed and lifeless.

Deafening silence like that from the NRA whores in Congress; those that buy into the lies of the National Rifle Association, selling their souls for a few dollars for their reelection; silence during which this deranged gunman loads another 30 rounds — another deadly high-capacity clip — and repeats the insanity. Five times!

Who are these political whores?

“Gun Powder and Testosterone”

This article is posted on The Huffington Post and can be read at Huff Post by clicking on the link.

**************************

Who loves the smell of gun powder in the morning?

We’ve heard the cliché that gasoline and alcohol don’t mix. The same should be said of gun powder and testosterone.

Both mixtures have deadly implications and deserve scrutiny wherever and whenever these elements are combined.

Though W.C. Fields once joked, “They say gasoline and alcohol don’t mix…actually, they do, they just don’t taste good,” the combination of gun powder and testosterone is no joking matter. Neither is the current combination of powerful weaponry and over stimulated and paranoid males.

So is the answer to take away all the guns?

“An Assault On Our Welfare”

It is far past the time to stop the gun insanity!

The NRA’s misinterpretation of the 2nd Amendment is killing innocent Americans and Congress must stop it.

A grave mistake was made in 2004 when Congress let the Assault Weapons Ban expire. It’s time they correct their legislative dereliction, Now!

We need common sense in our gun laws and ‘we the peopleowe it to the children of Sandy Hook to demand swift and immediate action from Congress.

If not now, then when?
