“Republicans Run From the Truth: Again!”

This new article has been posted at The Huffington Post and on wsj.com.To read it there click on the link.

**************************

Like spoiled children the remaining two Republicans quit bipartisan budget talks.

Majority Leader, Eric Cantor, and Senator, Jon Kyl, the last two GOP members, left the Biden chaired budget negotiations.

But this is not the first time Republicans have quit.

Because things weren’t going his way, Senator Tom Coburn, left the Gang of Six. Sarah Palin continues to quit everything she starts, more recently her big bus vacation. And Republicans have, over and over, abandoned positions they had previously supported as soon as the Democrats or Obama endorse them, even if they’re good for the nation.

This time, the consequences may be more serious—the results far more devastating.

Why, when negotiations reach critical points, do Republicans take their ball and head home?

“The Failure of the 4th Estate”

Media conglomerates are destroying American democracy!

Giant media corporations have altered the concept of a ‘Free Press.’ Their failure to uphold the tenets of the 4th estate is contributing to the erosion of our precious democracy.

The problem lies in ownership, or lack thereof.

We, ‘the people,’ no longer own the airwaves having allowed Congress to sell that freedom to profit hungry media groups—inextricably obligated to their investors—creating a press that is no longer free, and, in many cases, conspiratorial in the attempts to tear down democracy.

Both weakness and bias in the media have been obvious for a considerable time but no one wants to attack it straight on!

Have we abandoned the search for truth—bowing to the hunt for profits?

“Recall the Wisconsin Six!”

Wisconsin’s recall election has become a national event!

Wisconsinites are angry over new Governor Scott Walker’s deception and are not only voicing their opinion outside the Capitol in Madison, but taking their grievances to the ballot boxes.

Democrats in the Badger State successfully petitioned the recall of six Republican Senators who will be challenged for their Senate seats next month in a special election. The Democrats easily collected more signatures than were required for the Government Accountability Board to certify the results.

Not to be outdone, Republicans, with the help of out-of-state signature gathering agencies and buying signatures, managed to get three Democrats on the ballot.

Why are the Wisconsin people doing this?

“Stimulating a Dead Economy”

My newest article is now available on The Huffington Post. Click on the HuffPo linke to read it there.

******************************************************

The U.S. economy is surviving only because of over-stimulation.

We’re living on fumes in this country, and the pursuit of happiness has come to an end for millions of families!

Main Street is still suffering. But, the Market is on Viagra, shored up by QE2, the Fed program to buy hundreds of billions of dollars in U.S. Treasury Bonds. As QE2 winds down, and the economy falters, the discussion turns to the possibility of QE3.

A tremendous number of band aids have been administered to keep the U.S. economy from hemorrhaging; to prevent not only a domestic collapse, but a global one.

Each attempt to divert a financial disaster has had varying levels of success; many failing to achieve their intended goals.

Why have we needed so much stimulus?

Quick Hit: “Will Queen James Miss His Coronation?”

It appears that LaBron can’t handle the heat!

James has not turned out to be the Superstar the owners of the Miami Heat had hoped he would be and the SuperTeam faces elimination tonight at the hands of the seasoned Dallas Mavericks.

That is the outcome most of the fans outside the South Beach area hope for. Most of the nation has grown to despise LeBron and the Heat, and would celebrate their failure.

As Dwayne Wade and Dirk Nowitzki show what superstars bring to the Finals, James exhibits the same weakness he displayed in his final appearance with the Cavs.

He quits!

“The Palinization of America”

My newest post is on The Huffington Post, posted 6/6/11. Read it at HuffPo by clicking on the link.

**********************************

For many years America has been sliding into a dark abyss…

succumbing to the lowest common-denominator—spurning intelligence for ‘cool.’

As a result all areas of American life have changed, but not for the better. In fact, it is easier to be stupid than it is to become smart. And, unfortunately, America has embraced stupid.

Sarah Palin has somehow emerged at the vortex of this strange struggle—this negative storm. Perceived by some to be the answer for this country’s ills, she is, in fact, one of the causes.

This erosion was happening long before Palin burst onto the scene, but her presence has exposed the negative affects of the direction we’ve been heading for many years. The Palinization of America!

What exactly is Palinization?
