America has come to an important crossroads.

One party has lost their way and has no clue how to get out of the nightmare they’re in or which path will take them out of it.

What’s at stake is control the most powerful nation in the world.

Years of hypocrisy, subcutaneous prejudice, and a narrow vision of democracy, has caught up with, and left, the Republican Party questioning their direction, positions, and values.

They’ve become the party of derision — a level of animus never this openly displayed by the Republican Party.

So what direction will the GOP take?

“The Supreme Joy of Citizens United”

This article has been posted on The Huffington Post. Click on the link to read it at Huff Post.

***********************

The Citizens United decision was an egregious blow to democracy.

Republicans applauded the Supreme Court ruling in January, 2010 seeing an opportunity to spend millions of dollars to destroy the liberal message and Democratic candidates without repercussions and incarceration.

They are now feeling the unintended consequences of the wrongful interpretation of law forced on the American people by 5 men in black robes. A partisan attempt to manipulate elections; a dishonorable maneuver that set election law back 100 years.

But, their attempt to influence elections, to legislate from the bench, has backfired!

The Republican Sanatorium!

The longer they campaign, the crazier things get.

Watching the Republicans battle for the top spot in the nation is, not only comical, but agonizing.

It was Santorum’s week for a sudden surge, in time to garner a piece of the GOP crown in Iowa. Santorum’s message resonated with Evangelical voters in the Hawkeye state and a tie with Mitt Romney was a victory for Santorum.

But, will New Hampshire voters embrace him?

Republicans’ struggle to find a credible presidential candidate.

I began writing this article several weeks ago when charges of sexual harassment threatened the Cain candidacy and his numbers began to slide. Cain’s campaign was imploding but I got distracted by other, more serious issues.

And even though it was intended to continue the spoof of the Republican presidential field that began with “Is That All You’ve Got?,” I never imagined that Gingrich would be the next to rise to the top.

But — in this strange right-wing political world — he has!

“Is That All You’ve Got, Still?”

****************************

The GOP is vainly searching for a qualified Presidential Candidate!

With the elections less than two years away Republicans are still sifting through a tired list of potential candidates with very little luck!

The list of potential Presidential candidates reflects the uncertainty and unrest in the new Republican Party.

It seems like every few weeks a new prospect rises within the party and another on the list loses their lustre.

The list, since Obama’s defeat of McCain in 2008, has been in flux with no less than 18 potential stars. Some have already gone supernova, permanently fading from the list. Others are soon to follow.

The current list, which includes recirculated hopefuls like Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, and Sarah Palin, and Presidential wannabe’s like Tim Pawlenty, Newt Gingrich, and Michele Bachmann, is a study in both inanity and insanity.

Which Republican Presidential candidate can challenge President Obama?
